One of our clients recently enjoyed a fantastic day out at Old Trafford with his Rehabilitation Support Worker, exploring the home of Manchester United and soaking up the atmosphere of one of the world's most iconic football stadiums.

While it may look like a simple day trip, experiences like these can have a significant positive impact on rehabilitation, wellbeing, and quality of life. For individuals with complex needs, accessing the community and participating in meaningful activities provides opportunities for social inclusion, sensory stimulation, and engagement with personal interests.

Our client, who is a wheelchair user and non-verbal, was able to enjoy an experience centred around something he loves. Person-centred support is about understanding what matters to each individual and creating opportunities for them to participate in activities that bring enjoyment, fulfilment, and a sense of connection.

These moments help build confidence, promote emotional wellbeing, and create lasting memories. They also reinforce the importance of ensuring that everyone, regardless of their abilities, has access to the same opportunities to explore, engage, and enjoy life.

At the heart of rehabilitation is supporting people to live meaningful lives, and this visit to Old Trafford was a perfect example of that in action.
