Occupational Therapist – Sensory Integration

About the role

At Rehabilitation for Independence, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to live life on their own terms. We are looking for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Sensory Integration Team, helping children and young people overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

This is a community-based role, so the ability to travel is essential. You'll work in clinic, home, and school settings, supporting clients with mixed needs and diagnoses, including Autism and ADHD. Alongside hands-on therapy, you’ll play a key role in progressing cases through the rehabilitation process, keeping local authorities informed of each child’s journey.

We will also consider Physiotherapists or Speech & Language Therapists with relevant sensory integration experience and qualifications.

What You'll Be Doing

·       Assess motor, sensory, and perceptual skills and their impact on daily life

·       Use standardised and non-standardised assessments to tailor support to each client

·       Create individualised treatment plans and reports that track progress and outcomes

·       Work collaboratively with families, schools, and local authorities to ensure the best possible support

·       Handle challenging behaviours with confidence, care, and a person-centred approach

About You

·       HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with a recognised degree/qualification

·       At least 2 years’ experience working with children or within education

·       Knowledge of Autism, ADHD, and Sensory Integration Therapy

·       Experience in writing Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reports

·       SI Modules 1 & 2 (desirable) – we will support the right candidate to complete further training

·       Membership with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists

Why Join Us?
